I had no idea I would need life saving medicine. For eight long years I had so many health issues that were always dismissed by the doctors, I became more unwell every year until my new doctor measured my hormone levels, lots of tests were done and eventually in 2019 I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumour. Being a solo mum who now produces no cortisol (stress hormone) I am dependant on steroids to stay alive. I also have another condition which is a result from surgery that requires medication. Without these meds - ill die within days. Because my condition is so rare, even the best physicians have probably never heard of it and I don't have time for them to Google! This edit alert will tell them what to do if I need help fast.

I have been a Medic Alert member for almost 20 years after I had a severe allergic reaction to penicillin. About 10 years ago my ID bracelet broke and I have been carrying it around in my purse thinking that I would get round to fixing it one day.

A life-threatening accident led me to join Medic Alert after breaking my foot and experiencing anaphylactic shock during surgery due to anesthetic allergies. Thanks to my Medic Alert, medical professionals are now aware of my allergies, potentially saving my life in case of emergencies.
