This month will see the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons formally launch the New Zealand National Breast Device Registry.
It will be launched in Middlemore Hospital in Auckland and will be a major step forward for protecting Women’s Health.
The Foundations Medical Alerting Clinical Management (MACM) Platform has been selected to deliver this national service.
A key benefit to Members of the Foundation being, for the first time we are spreading the burden of cost of operating the Foundation beyond our Members.
In doing so we are also supporting members and kiwis more broadly, in a new way to protect themselves from harm.
We know surgical implants pose risks. The breast device registry leverages the best available advancements in health terminologies through Health New Zealand, to ensure if at some point in the future you need a breast implant, it is recorded on the Registry and any future concerns can be proactively managed to protect your best interests.
